An Operating Room is a sterile environment. Because it must be sterile, they don't allow anything into the room that isn't absolutely necessary. They will not allow your iPod Nano into the OR because there is no way to sterilize it.

Operations must be performed in a sterile environment to prevent you from getting an infection.

If you know that the situation is true ask if they go to or have friends who go to any church in the area, If so contact the pastor and tell them what you would like to do. Also look at www.switchboard.com under socal service organizations in or near their community and under churches if they don't go to any specific church you will probably find some sources of help that way both immediate help and help with the video. Some high school AV departments help make videos for groups in the community. The school social worker at the children's schools may be a good source of help and info also. Has she talked with the cancer society and with the folks who organize relay for life in her area? They also may be sources of help.

You can view lots of that stuff for free on youtube, FtM guy's blogs, bulletin boards, etc.

Plus, I have my own transition journey. Why would I need to see/read or even care about anyone else's? Your experience isn't MY experience, so just because you paid x amount of dollars, or did x,y,z things in x,y,z order doesn't mean I will. So I think such things are maybe a little informative, but still very personal and as such, esoteric, because it's unique to the individual as all transition processes are, and not something that can be really useful as a general resource.

If I were going to pay money for something like that, I'd look at it from the same perspective as I would if I were purchasing any autobiography or option of reading about/seeing someone's personal story. It would be a one time fee and only if I was interested in purchasing or caring about that person's story.
