Theresa Said:

Can I still take brazilian jujitsu after lumbar spine surgery?

We Answered:

Seriously, how many surgeons or doctors do you think are on here?

I'd talk to the surgeon who performed your operation.

Arlene Said:

'Syrinx' in T-spine and scar tissue from Lumbar spine surgery pressing on a L-nerve. What can be done?

We Answered:

Have you considered medical treatment and surgical help for this in India? My cousin got her surgery from a company called Forerunners Healthcare in India.
She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines. I have read a lot of their patient stories also. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as all types of medical treatment and surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that your medical treatment and surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Cindy Said:

Is there anyway to determine the best hospital and/or doctor for lumbar spine surgery?

We Answered:

If you know anyone who works in an operating room, ask his/her opinion. They see it all.

If not, you can ask your family doctor, but they really have no clue, and often refer based on who their golf buddy is, and that sort of thing.

You can also ask people who have had the same surgery done who they saw, and whether they liked their surgeon, but personality and surgical skill do not correlate well.

Rosa Said:

I have undergone spine surgery in Lumbar area (L5) 1 year ago. What care should be taken? what exercises ?

We Answered:

This is a question that you need to ask your surgeon. He/she is the only one who knows the exact procedure, and the only one who can give advice on proper exercises and further care.

If we recommended anything at all, we might suggest something that is not appropriate for you, and cause injury.
