Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery?

We Answered:

We don't know the future. Only God does. yes, there may be complications during and after the surgery. In fact, there can be changes before the surgery that will require improvising during the surgery. Best option is to submit to God and live for God. Remember, although non and minimal invasive, it is still spinal surgery and that is serious business in anyones book. If it is having effects on nervous system already, then now is a god time to seriously consider what life and death is about, not for scaring you, but for facing realitt that many of us avoid. Live for God, I hope it works out for you.

Who would not be a candidate for minimally invasive hip surgery?

We Answered:

I used to work as a product development engineer for an orthopedic company. I have never heard of back complications as a result of arthroplastic MIS (minimally invasive surgery). The stress on your back is a direct result of the particular technique your surgeon utilizes and how gentle or impatient s/he feels on that particular day, i.e. things that increase stresses on your skeletal structures. MIS techniques have a much greater impact on soft-tissue-related complications like blood loss and recuperation time. Similarly, soft tissue can be prohibitive to MIS due to excessive flesh around the hip joint. Your surgeon will tell you if s/he feels that your size prohibits the technique.

Do you know where I can find information on minimally invasive surgery for GERD?

We Answered:

gerd is a condition in which gastric acids back up into the esophagus or food tube.Complications can be ulcerations with potential perforation and bleeding. Medications such as protonix, nexium, pepcid do very well.A gastroscopy can be performed to check for these erosions. You are heavily sedated and a lighted scope is passed down your throat into your stomach so the doc can visualize.

What can you tell me about minimally invasive coronary bypass surgery?

We Answered:

Minimally invasive coronary (heart) artery bypass can be done without stopping the heart and putting a patient on a heart-lung machine.

A heart surgeon will make a 3- to 5-inch-long incision (cut) in the left part of your chest between your ribs. This allows the surgeon to reach your heart. Muscles in the area will be pushed apart. A small part of the front of the rib, called the costal cartilage, will be removed. Then the surgeon will find and prepare an artery in your chest to attach to your coronary artery that is blocked.

Once the above steps are done, the surgeon will connect the prepared chest artery to your coronary artery that is blocked.

You will not need to be on a heart-lung machine for this surgery, but a device will be attached to your heart to slow it down

Can you get minimally invasive spinal surgery if you three herniated discs?

We Answered:

I would check with a spinal surgeon. My surgeon told me I would have minimally invasive surgery if I needed it and I only have one herniated disc. Three herniated discs sounds like you may need to have some major surgery, that is why I suggest getting more information from a spinal surgeon.
