What is the Status and Salary of the Following Career ?

Best place for all the information you need is the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook. http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos074.htm
They also have listing of other places to research your specialties

Edgar Said:

DO you believe Capitalism created more Jobs & equality than Socialism???? ?

We Answered:

Agree.

But you must refrain from calling what America does as being capitalism. You are essentially right, but the term is often misapplied.

All systems of government even socialism and communism are inherently capitalist and engage in capitalism. The difference being who owns the capital. It is owned by the people in a free-enterprise market or is it controlled by a monopolistic central government.

orthopedic physician job?

We Answered:

Orthopedics DO surgery; that's the whole idea. If surgery bothers you, you'd better remember that while training, you will be doing lots of surgeries too.

What do I have to do to become an Orthopedic Surgeon?

We Answered:

im a sophomore in hs too, who also wants to go into the medical field=)
i've researched stuff about becoming a doctor when i've been bored, so i can tell you some things:
DON'T set your mind on a specific speciality now! by all means, you can be as interested as you want in this speciality, but you need to be openminded about other specialities as well, because you can't really know which speciality you want until you do rotations 3rd year of med school. you really need the hands on experience before deciding something like this. you may continue to want to go into surgery in your final year of med school when you're applying to resdencies, and thats great, just keep an open mind. also, you won't actually choose a specific speciality of surgery right away, first you will just go into a surgical residency program, in the first year or two, im pretty sure you rotate through different surgical specialities.
your gpa in freshman year is fantastic (a lot better than mine i must say lol) so make sure to keep it up! colleges will be most interested in your junior and senior grades. when looking at colleges, look at ones with strong science programs and good pre med advising, but also think about things like the people and location so you can have a good well rounded college experience. then you'll probably apply to med school in junior year.
i don't know about the suing rates for orthopedic surgery or the competition, sorry. but i do know that there are significantly more men than women in the field of surgery, so being a woman could give you an advantage if you end up applying for a surgery residency.
good luck!

Considering studying for Orthopedic Surgery?

We Answered:

Your question shows that you really have no idea what you want to do. Orthopedic surgery and family practice are SO different. Totally different personality types, ways of looking at patients, ways of viewing the world.... just so completely far apart from each other.

But that's OK. If you know that you want to be a physician, go for it. You don't need to choose a specialty (and really cannot know what you want to do) until you are almost done medical school.

Go to med school with an open mind, and you'll find your specialty.

In high school, take challenging courses in math and science, and get all A's. Do very well on the SAT, and choose a college where you feel comfortable.

Good luck.
