what is partial hip replacement? how to do it? what are the management? We Answered:
A partial hip replacement is also referred to as a "hemiarthroplasty". "Hemi" means half; "arthroplasty" means joint replacement, so this is a half a hip replacement.Go here for a picture and an explanation of the procedure.

Can I sue the doctor that butchered my grandmother after a year?We Answered:
Just because Grandma is 92 doesn't mean that she and her quality of life isn't worth anything. Don't be discouraged by the nay-sayers.If you hold Power of Attorney for your grandmother, you can file a complaint with your State Board of Medical Examiners; with The Chief of Staff at the hospital; and if she is a Medicare recipient you need to visit this web page (pdf format): http://www.medicareadvocacy.org/QIOConfe… and get some ideas.
It sounds like there is some Medicare fraud going on and they need to be notified. Also consult an attorney who specializes in MEDICAL MALPRACTICE LAWSUITS.
A word of advice: Get copies of EVERY page of her medical records from all the doctors offices and the hospital before you say a word to anyone or lodge a complaint. If they suspect anything they will destroy the records and claim they are lost. "Borrow" all her x-rays and don't return them; they are her property because she paid for them. They are great evidence in court.
Don't make any allegations about prescriptions for pain medications unless you have proof. As far as the doctor settling out of court, the patient or her legal representative has the right to decline settlement and DEMAND a trial by jury. That's what scares the crap out of incompetent doctors and wipes out their bank accounts. You need to get a move on because the attorney will need a lot of time to study the case and you don't want the statute of limitations to run out.
By the way, you don't need lots of money to file your lawsuit. Lawyers take cases like this on a contingency basis; if you win, he gets paid; if you lose, he doesn't get paid.

I'm temp. in a wheelchair, and right below my tailbone hurts. Is this the sciatic nerve? How do I stop/help it?We Answered:
i really hope you're not developing a pressure ulcer because those can be really difficult to heal. ask you husband to look and see if your skin is all reddened in that area. just google images of pressure ulcers and you'll see what i mean. they are a terrible terrible thing that can lead to big holes in your skin and can also develop bad infections. i'm an RN and i have seen so many over time. just be careful and make sure you change positions as frequently as possible.Eva Said:
Is there a Partial Hip Replacement procedure that replaces just the Acetabellum not the Femur Head?We Answered:
Yes there is a partial surgical option. It is called a hip resurfacing arthroplasty and there are a number of ways to approach it. I have included a link that illustrates and explains this in greater detail. Ultimately, it will depend on how much arthritis you have and the judgment of the Orthopedic surgeon about the best choices.
