Plastic Surgeons all begin their career learning reconstructive procedures but just like lawyers can opt to go where the money is and become defense lawyers, a large number of plastic surgeons choose to go to elective cosmetics.

I spent year in emergency services and working in ERs and trauma centers and I found "plastics" to be the most interesting.

As where the majority of surgeons are working to keep someone alive, the plastic surgeons were working on the often overlooked "quality of life" side of reconstructive surgery.

Knowing that beyond the physical injuries there is the issue of a person's self-worth and confidence that can be severely damaged or destroyed by scars and disfiguring tissue damage.

Watching one of our plastics guys repair a laceration on a little girl's forehead and seeing the slow, painstaking efforts he put into his sutures to ensure that young lady had as small of a scar as possible on her face was truly a impressive.

If you decide to pursue that specialty, good luck on your future and don't forget that your patients are counting on you to make the horrible events as hard to notice as possible.

I have a friend who had gastric bypass surgery, and her plastic surgery was covered by insurance because of the huge amount of lose skin just hanging there that no matter how much exercise she does its not going to go away. She was also have some yeast infections on her skin inbetween the folds because of heat and friction.
Go to your primary doctor and or the doctor who performed and ask. Doesnt hurt to ask!

Surgeon assistant programs are accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHE). Accredited programs in surgeon assisting can be found at community colleges, universities and some medical centers. CAAHE-approved programs range in length from 10 to 22 months and include a wide range of studies, including surgical anatomy, microbiology, pharmacology, bioscience and anesthesia methods. Surgical assistants can earn licensure by examination through National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
Surgical Assistant Training
Surgical assistant training normally includes a 1-year certificate or 2-year degree program, preferably from a college with accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Graduates are also prepared to apply for certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).

The most commonly used program is called "Mirror Image". Its a digital imaging program.

Most of the time, the image is sent to a lab, where programs who are experienced in reconstructive surgery digitally alter the picture.

You were asking for someone to give you a car on your other question. If you are broke how can you afford a computer much less internet access. Get a job like the rest of us.
As far a self esteem put on some make up, exercise, do your hair. There are many things that you can do to boost your confidence. Having a job will do wonders. Making your own money to buy things that you would like is a real self esteem boost.
