I didnt have rotator cuff surgery but i had a reconstruction of my shoulder when i was 14 from playing football. They will put you to sleep, and trust me you wont feel anything, its gonna feel goood when those drugs hit u lol. when u wake up your probly gonna feel bad. it also took me about 6-5 months before i could begin contact so baseball might be a quicker recovery. Do not try to do anything before then even if you think u can do something DO NOT,,, let it heal and leave it alone + physical therapy is gonna help alot and its not painful. I am 16 now and my shoulder is great no problems at all.

A year ago January, I had my right shoulder done and then in February I had the left shoulder done. It wasn't bad at all. I had a sling on for a couple of days but was still quite mobile. Was able to dress myself,shower etc. you will be surprised

I would not worry so much about cost as I would competency. If the best surgeon was on the moon, that is where I would be headed.

Ice your rotator cuff muscles. Which muscle specifically? Supraspinatus? I would also limit activity and not lift any heavy objects.

I tore my rotator cuff while boxing in 2005. I was throwing a clumsy right hook and overextended my shoulder. It was a partial tear, not all the way through. Because it was only a partial tear, I did not need surgery, and it has healed successfully. For several months after the tear, however, it was painful, and I couldn't really do much with my right arm. I had to build it up back slowly and had physical therapy. I didn't box at all that first year of recovery, but worked out with weights and machines and was careful to start with light exercises and build back up slowly and carefully.

However, now, 3 years later, it is well healed and I am able to box or do other forms of exercise.

Each case is individual. First of all, make sure you need the surgery. In many cases, this is an injury that heals, but you will need to build your shoulder back up slowly and gradually--no boxing at first! Only after you have built your strength and flexibility back up slowly and cautiously through physical therapy and a gradual exercise program, then you may very well be able to box again!
