i know a few girls who had the surgery in their teens. and i have to tell you, those that i know that had them in their 20's (me included) all seem to be much happier. i know exactly what you are going through. it seems like the end of the world, but you will survive. i was a 32DDD in high school and though everything else stayed the same through college, my chest grew 2 more cup sizes.
i had a reduction at 27 and it was the best thing i ever did.

there is no reason why you can't get the surgery at 16, but let me give you 2 pieces of advice.

1) you are still growing and so are your boobs. before i had my surgery, i told a friend i was getting it done and she told me she had one too. i looked at her like she was crazy. her boobs were huge. she had the surgery at 17, her boobs were still growing and she put on a little weight.

2) everyone i know who had surgery in their teens had to pay for the surgery out of pocket. everyone i know who had surgery in their 20's was able to get their insurance to cover it.

However, no doctor is going to even consider doing breast reduction surgery on you at age 12. None. You are nowhere near finished with your development, and honestly dear - cheerleading tryouts aren't a good reason for MAJOR surgery. BTW, who told you that you can't be a cheerleader because of your breasts? I'd think your parents could have a chat with them, regarding opportunities and equality.
