Your teeth get lined up with braces and then an oral surgeon moves your lower jaw forward to where it should be. The surgeon can also do other things such as platysmal plication or submental lipo to augment the look. You would need to be in braces to get ready for the surgery. Try the AAOMS website and see if that answers some questions. You should consult with an orthodontist or a surgeon for more information.
