Has anyone ever heard of trigger finger surgery? We Answered:
They will make an incision on the palm side of your finger. Then they will cut the fascia (like plastic wrap) around a portion of the muscle and tendon to improve your finger's motion. This will also significantly decrease or eliminate the trigger finger. I am not an orthopedic surgeon, so this may not be the exact, precise procedure, but that is the general idea.BEFORE you get surgery, have you received a cortisone injection in your finger? Many physicians will try improving trigger finger with an injection first, then resort to surgery if the injection fails. I have personally seen the injection resolve trigger finger, so if you haven't tried that, you may want to consider it before you are opened up.

how much does trigger finger surgery cost?We Answered:
For those who don't know, trigger finger is a disease called stenosing tenosynovitis. It's when the tendon of your finger is too short, gets caught and causes a lot of pain. They try a lot of meds, rest, cortisone injections, etc. to try to relieve the pain, but if that doesn't work then they do surgery to release the tendon. After surgery your mom will have to go to physical therapy for awhile. That's usually where the bills add up, but it's critical to do the PT.
Each surgeon charges different prices for surgery. You usually have to pay the surgeon as well as the facility that the surgery is done at, like a hospital or surgery center. I'd check into government funded programs, medicaid, medicare, things like that. What state do you live in? I might be able to make some suggestions to you depending on where you live. Email me. Glad to see you're looking out for your mom!
Check out the link I've enclosed. It doesn't say anything about costs, but it does describe the disease and the treatments.
