There are many conflicting opinions on weight loss charts. I use: 100 pounds for 5' plus 5 pounds for each inch. Using this formula, your ideal weight is 145 pounds. You could also ask your doctor what he/she thinks is a healthy weight for you.

I was given this formula by a hospital staff member.

If you plan to lose more weight, you might want to delay the surgery to remove extra skin. With further weight loss, you may develop more extra skin and have to go through the same surgery.

You do not want to wear anything that you have to raise your arms to take off. That is why the doc said no to the tank top. If you are not a moo moo person ( i wasnt either) wear a zippered or button down shirt. I just wore sweats and a full zippered hoodie.

You usually have to be over 18 for that type of stuff and if you are not, I wouldn't recommend doing a water fast for that long either. Its really hard on your body. If you lose the weight the right way, slowly through diet and exercise you won't have to worry about surgery or pain or anything like that.

I had a tummy tuck 3 years ago (actually the 1st day of my 3rd trimester was the 3rd anniversary - to the day!). Yes, the muscles can stretch to accomidate the baby... but it hurts! Even after 3 years. I DEFINATELY would not recommond gettin pregnant only a year post op.

If its only a year, definately do it after the baby. I cant tell you what the bounce back will be after the baby arrives, i havent had mine yet - the baby that is. I would definately wait.
